Conference : 2020 3rd Workshop on 5G Technologies for First Responder and Tactical Networks
Date: October 23 - October 23, 2020

Towards the wide deployment of 5G and achieving its underlying key promises, the convergence of multiple technologies (e.g. SDN, NFV, MEC, etc.) and the integration of various types of networks (e.g. cellular, satellite, drone-relays, etc.) is essential, as opposed to the previous generations where these components were used in a stand-alone fashion. Such an integration introduces several challenges and network management problems with regards to the heterogeneity of the network, the great heterogeneity of traffic demand, different component dynamics, and the overall cost of deployment. We describe some of these problems and present our approaches to address the associated challenges.
